Little Acre purchases flowers from growers throughout the DC/MD/VA region. We strive to supply from as close to DC as possible to offer the freshest flowers possible. We never use imported flowers.
Fresh, local and seasonal flowers! We order new flowers daily to create a single daily arrangement that reflects the season. You can see our gallery for previous arrangements. We don’t take special requests for specific flowers and we can't share what the designs will look like in advance because we don’t really know in advance! It depends on what our growers have available at the time.
To promote the longevity of your flowers, keep them in a cool place out of direct sunlight. Make sure to trim the stems with a sharp knife (NOT scissors which compresses the stems) and use floral conditioner in the water to feed the flowers. Change the water every couple of days and your blooms should stay looking perky!
Unfortunately, due to the high volume of orders we can't accommodate specific delivery time requests. We will make a note for our drivers but we can't guarantee. Sorry!
On busy days we might not be able to buy enough flowers to fulfill all orders identically so we make adjustments. We try our best to create one daily arrangement.

For the time being, no. While we’d love to share our flowers nationally, to ensure freshness, our delivery area is local only. As more florists become aware of the importance of buying locally we hope to have a network of likeminded businesses across the country.
Yes, you can! To keep our prices down we usually don't operate a brick and mortar retail location. However, if you would like to pick up an order, please select "local pickup" upon checkout (or call our studio to place an order over the phone) and we'll send you our U St. corridor address so you can pick it up.
We hope you can! If you are ordering early in the day there is chance we can accommodate. We try to match our orders to the quantity of flowers that we buy to cut down on waste. It also keeps our prices competitive and our impact low—this also means that we often sell out. Try to order as early as possible!
Little Acre delivers to major areas within the DMV region, which includes all of the DC metro area, as well as much of the Northern Virginia suburbs (Arlington & Alexandria), and Maryland. Please give our studio a call to inquire about specific zip codes.
We deliver throughout the DC/MD/VA region between 9am and 5pm Monday through Friday. Unfortunately, we can’t tell you exactly when your flowers will arrive but we do our best to deliver them as early as possible. Please refer to our delivery calendar during checkout to see available delivery dates and check back for special hours on major holidays.
Our drivers make every attempt to get the flowers delivered directly to the recipient, or otherwise leave them in a safe place where they can be found when the recipient arrives home. However, in some situations, if there's no safe space to leave the flowers and the recipient cannot be reached, we may attempt re-delivery the next day (or at another time as agreed upon if we can reach the recipient to discuss). If we need to attempt re-delivery more than once, we will need to assess an additional delivery charge, or require that the flowers be picked up from our studio space. We cannot provide refunds for failed delivery attempts that are beyond our control. Thanks for understanding!

We work out of a studio space in the U St corridor. Unless we are having a special open studio day, we aren't able to handle walk in customers so please contact us by email and phone. If you need a mailing address we are located at 2004 17th St NW, Ground Floor, Washington DC 20009.
Little Acre is closed for all federal holidays including MLK Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, and Thanksgiving (plus day after Thanksgiving). We close for our annual leave between Christmas and New Years.
In certain circumstances, we may need to reach out to the recipient (locked apartment buildings, road closures, inclement weather, high-security office buildings, etc.). However, we promise we won't spoil the surprise and give away who sent the flowers! 🙂
Sure! However, if the recipient calls us we are required to let them know who sent the blooms.
Our drivers will make every attempt to reach recipients by phone or text.
Sure! As long as you have the full street address and dorm number it shouldn't be a problem. Please note that most campus housing is very secure and therefore may not be able to accept the delivery if the recipient is not available, so our courier may be routed to the campuses mail room.
Let us know as soon as you find out and, as long as the flowers are not already out for delivery, we can work with you to schedule a new date. However, if the arrangement has already left our studio, we are not able to cancel your order or change the delivery date. We strongly encourage that you confirm that the recipient will be home when you'd like to send them flowers!
We are always happy to accommodate delivery requests for secure buildings, but ask that the sender provide multiple phone numbers for us to reach the recipient (or someone who can get to the recipient), such as a cell phone number and an office line. In many cases, we're not allowed directly into the buildings for security reasons, but if someone can come outside and take the flowers from our driver, getting the flowers there is no problem! Please note, if we need to make multiple re-delivery attempts, we will have to assess an additional delivery fee or require that the flowers be picked up directly from our studio.
