Floral Photography - a daily practice

Floral Photography - a daily practice

I used to joke that I might actually like making photos of flowers as much as I liked making arrangements of flowers. I'm flexing my skills more these days and hauling out the big, intimidating Nikon to experiment. I always rely on my iPhone for quick captures but to really get the depth of field that I want -- to make locally grown flowers look as beautiful as I know them to be -- I need to practice with a more capable tool. So I'm committing to a new daily practice of loving my Nikon. I'm going to share some of what I create here. I'll provide a bit of info about the photo for those interested -- gotta talk gear if I'm really going all in on this! These were shot with my Nikon D800 and a Nikkor 50mm lens over three different days; the light and the flowers evolve. Feedback welcome!

Huge thanks to Tiffany Brown Anderson of Earth and Seeds Farm for getting me on my way with some photography coaching!
