Where does Little Acre source from?
To create our garden-inspired designs, Little Acre sources flowers from independent growers throughout the DMV and mid-Atlantic region, or otherwise as close by as possible given the season.
What kind of flowers will I get?
Fresh, local, and seasonal flowers! Our studio receives new flowers daily from local growers, and our designers use those flowers to create our seasonally-inspired arrangements. While we aren't able to guarantee specific requests for flowers, we're happy to take suggestions and will always do whatever is possible given what's in season and available to us. Be sure to check out our gallery or our Instagram @littleacreflowers to take a peek at how things currently look.
How do I care for my flowers?
To promote the longevity of your flowers, keep them in a cool area out of direct sunlight. Trim stems with a knife or sharp scissors and use the enclosed floral conditioner (flower food) in the water. We recommend changing out the water every other day (or even better - daily) to keep your blooms looking fresh as long as possible.
What sizes are the bouquets and vases?
When choosing a vase or bouquet, keep this handy size reference in mind:
Small vases and bouquets contain 12 - 15 stems of flowers and greens
Medium vases and bouquets contain 20-24 stems of flowers and greens
Large vases and bouquets contain 30-35 stems of flowers and greens
XL vases and bouquets contain 40-45 stems of flowers and greens.
For a dinner table, consider a table arrangement, table garden, petite vase collection or bud vase collection as they are designed full, lush and low enough for guests to see each other and have conversation over the floral arrangement.
Can you make my arrangement pet-safe?
We love our furry friends! But due to the nature of our local sourcing process, we cannot guarantee the flowers you receive are 100% pet-friendly. If you have specific flowers you do *not* want included, please leave that in the notes during checkout and we'll be sure to leave them out.
I ordered two arrangements and they look different. Why?
Because of our sourcing and design process, no two arrangements will ever look exactly alike - and that's part of the fun! All of our designs are created with a specific aesthetic, height, and shape in mind, but the types of flowers or colors included may differ. That said, if you do want multiple arrangements to look as close to identical as possible, please leave that in the notes section upon checkout and our designers will do their best to accommodate.
What if I'm not satisfied?
We want you to be 100% happy. Please email us at info@littleacreflowers.com and let us know how we can make it right. We stand by our product and want to make sure you feel good about your purchase.
Can I send flowers outside the DMV area?
For the time being, no. While we’d love to share our flowers nationally, to ensure freshness, our delivery area is local only. As more florists become aware of the importance of buying locally we hope to have a network of likeminded businesses across the country.
Can I pick up a bouquet or vase arrangement?
Yes, you can! If you would like to pick up an order, please select "local pickup" upon checkout and we'll send you our U St. corridor address. To keep our prices down and serve more customers, our studio is open for pick-up by appointment only. We are not open for walk-in retail sales, so be sure to order online before arriving.
Can I get my flowers delivered today?
Delivery for today is available for orders placed before noon. After noon, if our drivers have already left we can set your order to be delivered tomorrow. Or, consider opting for a pickup.

What time will my flowers be delivered?
We deliver throughout the DC/MD/VA region between 12 - 5pm on Mondays - Fridays and 11am - 4pm on Saturdays for our standard delivery fee. Drivers will send ETA updates via text to the mobile phone number listed for the delivery recipient.
Due to the high volume of orders we receive, we can't guarantee a specific delivery time with the standard delivery fee.
If you’d like to receive your order earlier in the day consider pick-up at our studio, available from 9am - 3pm.
Special events delivery windows may be available outside the 12-5pm timeframe for an additional fee; contact info@littleacreflowers.com to ask about delivery options.
Will Little Acre ever contact the recipient before the flowers are delivered?
Yes, our courier service will send text updates to the phone number provided for the recipient to notify them that a delivery is en route. If you'd prefer the recipient not receive these messages, you may consider giving your own mobile number. In certain circumstances we may need assistance from someone at the recipient’s address to successfully complete the delivery (locked apartment buildings, road closures, inclement weather, high-security office buildings, etc.), and we appreciate your help in ensuring smooth logistics! If there is an issue accessing the recipient’s location, we will contact you and may be able to re-attempt delivery the following day for an additional charge.
Can you text / call the recipient upon delivery?
Our driver service will text the phone number we are given for the recipient with ETA updates and again when the delivery is completed. Please be sure to include a mobile number with your order.
Can you deliver to a college dorm?
Sure! Include the full street address, dorm name and dorm number in the delivery address. We follow campus security policies, which may route our courier to the campus mail room.
Can I send flowers anonymously?
Sure! However, if the recipient calls us we are required to let them know who sent the flower arrangement.
When is Little Acre Flowers closed?
Little Acre is closed for all federal holidays including MLK Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, 4th of July, Labor Day, Indigenous Peoples Day, Veterans Day, and Thanksgiving. We close for our annual leave between Christmas and New Years.
What can I do with my extra vases?
Little Acre Flowers is happy to recycle your used vases. Please email us at info@littleacreflowers.com to arrange for a drop off to our workspace in the U Street corridor.
What's your address?
We work out of a studio space in the U St corridor. We see clients for flower pickup by appointment only for orders placed through the website.
If you need a mailing address we are located at 2004 17th St NW, Ground Floor, Washington DC 20009.
Does Little Acre Flowers do weddings and events?
Yes, we do! We would love to help you plan your special celebration. You can visit the events page to order A La Carte event flowers or to submit an event inquiry.
Do you do funeral flowers?
While we do not offer traditional funeral designs such as sprays or casket displays, we are always honored to create something custom for a funeral or celebration of life. A popular option for expressing sympathy, condolence, or for a funeral is the Large or XL Vase, as well as the Bespoke arrangement if there's something very specific in mind.
How do I update the delivery address?
If you place your order and notice an error in the delivery address, please reach out to us as soon as possible via email (info@littleacreflowers.com) with the correct address.
What is your cancellation policy?
Orders under $400 may be canceled up to 2 days before your scheduled pick-up or delivery. For example, an order due to be delivered on Monday may be canceled on Saturday by 4pm. We're unable to cancel orders placed for same-day or next-day delivery.
If you would like to cancel or change the date of an order, email info@littleacreflowers.com with your order number, client name, or recipient name.
Custom orders, A La Carte designs, Party Packs and full service event orders require pre-planning and cancellation must be at least two weeks in advance of your delivery or pick-up date, unless stated otherwise in an event agreement.
Thank you for honoring the care that goes into bringing your flowers from our partner farms to our studio then to you. If you have questions about the cancellation policy, please reach out to our team.
