Where does Little Acre source from?

Little Acre purchases flowers from growers throughout the DC/MD/VA region. We strive to source flowers from as close to DC as possible to offer the freshest flowers possible.

What kind of flowers will I get?

Fresh, local and seasonal flowers! We order new flowers daily and our designers create a daily arrangement that reflects the season. Check-out our gallery for previous arrangements. We only take special requests for specific seasonal flowers if they we have them available on the day of delivery. We can't share what the designs will look like in advance because we don’t really know in advance! It completely depends on what our growers have available at the time.

How do I care for my flowers?

To promote the longevity of your flowers, keep them in a cool place out of direct sunlight. Make sure to trim the stems with a sharp knife when they arrive. (Do NOT use scissors, they will compress the stems!) If you ordered a bouquet, add floral food in the water to feed the flowers; if you ordered a vase, the flower food is already in the water. We recommend changing the water every couple of days to keep your blooms looking fresh and perky!

Is there a minimum order amount for deliveries?

Yes. In order for Little Acre Flowers to deliver your arrangement, the minimum order amount is $55 USD.

Can I request a specific delivery time?

Unfortunately, due to the high volume of orders we receive, we can't promise a specific delivery time request. Feel free to include a time frame request when you place your order, and we will share this information with our driver. We will do our best to try and accommodate the request, but there is no guarantee. Sorry!

I ordered two arrangements and they look different. Why?

On busy days, we might not have enough local flowers to create each arrangement to look identical. We make design adjustments based on our availability and what flowers are the freshest!

What if I'm not satisfied?

We want you to be 100% happy with your flower arrangement. Please email us at inquiry@littleacreflowers.com and let us know how we can make it right! We stand by our product and want to make sure you feel good about your purchase.

Can I send flowers outside the DMV area?

For the time being, no. We’d love to share our flowers nationally! But to ensure freshness, our delivery area is local to Washington, D.C. As more florists become aware of the importance of buying locally, we hope to have a network of like-minded businesses across the country!

Can I pick up a bouquet or vase arrangement?

Yes, you can! To keep our prices down, we don't operate a brick and mortar retail location. However, you can pick-up an order at our design studio in Adams Morgan. Please select "local pickup" during checkout (or call our studio to place an order over the phone) and we'll send you our U St. address.

Can I get my flowers delivered today?

We hope you can! If you are ordering early in the day (before 11:00 am), there is chance we can accommodate a same-day order. We try to match our orders to the quantity of flowers that we buy to cut down on waste. Matching our supply to orders also keeps our prices competitive and our impact low, which means that we often sell out. We recommend trying to order as early in the day as possible if you need same-day flowers!

What time will my flowers be delivered?

We deliver throughout the DC/MD/VA region between 9am and 5pm 7 days per week. Unfortunately, we can’t tell you exactly when your flowers will arrive but we do our best to deliver them as early as possible. Please refer to our delivery calendar during checkout to see available delivery dates and check back for special hours on major holidays.

What happens if the recipient isn't able to accept the flowers?

Our drivers make every attempt to get the flowers delivered directly to the recipient, or to leave them in a safe place where they can be found when the recipient arrives home. However, in some situations, if there's no safe space to leave the flowers and the recipient cannot be reached, we may attempt re-delivery the next day (or at another time as agreed upon with the sender if we can reach the recipient to discuss). If we need to attempt re-delivery more than once, we will need to assess an additional delivery charge, or require that the flowers be picked up from our studio space. We cannot provide refunds for failed delivery attempts that are beyond our control. Thanks for understanding!

Will Little Acre ever contact the recipient before the flowers are delivered?

In certain circumstances, we will need to reach out to the recipient (locked apartment buildings, road closures, inclement weather, high-security office buildings, etc.). However, we promise we won't spoil the surprise and give away who sent the flowers! 🙂

Can you text / call the recipient upon delivery?

Our drivers will make every attempt to reach a recipient by phone and / or text prior to delivery.

I just found out that the recipient will be out of town for their flower delivery, what can I do?

Let us know as soon as you find out and, as long as the flowers are not already out for delivery, we can work with you to schedule a new date. However, if the arrangement has already left our studio, we are not able to cancel your order or change the delivery date. We strongly encourage that you confirm that the recipient will be home before placing an order to send them flowers!

Does Little Acre deliver to secure government buildings?

We are always happy to accommodate delivery requests for secure buildings, but we ask that the sender provide multiple phone numbers for us to reach the recipient (or someone who can get to the recipient), such as a cell phone number and an office line.

In many cases, we're not allowed directly into the buildings for security reasons, but if someone can come outside and take the flowers from our driver, getting the flowers there is no problem! Please note: if we need to make multiple re-delivery attempts, we will have to assess an additional delivery fee or require that the flowers be picked up directly from our studio.

Can you deliver to a college dorm?

Sure! As long as you have the full street address, dorm name, and dorm number, it shouldn't be a problem. Please note that most campus housing is very secure and therefore the building may not be able to accept the delivery if the recipient is not available. When this happens, our driver may be routed to the campus's mail room.

Can I send flowers anonymously?

Sure! However, if the recipient calls us we are required to let them know who sent the flower arrangement.

When is Little Acre Flowers closed?

Little Acre is closed for all major federal holidays including MLK Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, and Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving. We also close down for our annual leave between Christmas Eve and New Years Day.

What can I do with my extra vases?

Little Acre Flowers is happy to sanitize and reuse your vases! Please email us at inquiry@littleacreflowers.com to arrange for a drop off to our studio in Adams Morgan.

What if I decide to cancel my subscription before I receive three deliveries?

If you cancel your subscription before the minimum requirement of three deliveries, you will be charged a $20 cancellation fee.

What's your address?

We work out of a studio space on U Street in Adam's Morgan. Unless we are having a special open house, we don't accept walk-in orders from customers. Please visit our website or contact us by phone to place an order for local pick-up. If you need a mailing address, we are located at 2004 17th St NW, Unit 1, Washington DC 20009.

Does Little Acre Flowers do weddings and events?

Yes, we do! We would love to help you plan your special celebration. Please visit our Weddings And Events page for more information.

Do you do funeral flowers?

While we do not offer traditional funeral designs such as sprays or casket displays, we are always willing to create something custom for a funeral or celebration of life! A popular option for expressing sympathy, condolence, or for a funeral is the Large or XL Vase, as well as the Bespoke arrangement if there's something very specific in mind.

How do I update the delivery address?

If you place your order and notice an error in the delivery address, please reach out to us as soon as possible via email (info@littleacreflowers.com) or give our studio a call at 202-524-0812. We know sometimes apps such as Shopify Pay or Apple Pay will force addresses to change upon order completion, so please be sure to double check that delivery details are accurate once you've completed your order, especially if you've used one of these apps to pay! We're always happy to update the details before flowers leave for delivery, but we are unable to re-send flowers if the original address provided to us was incorrect, unless a new order is placed.
