Once you receive a beautiful bouquet, how can you help it last?
Good news: Little Acre Flowers sources 100% locally, so your flowers are the freshest they can be, often harvested within just days of arriving at your door.
Unwrapping your Bouquet

Daily hand-tied bouquets arrive wrapped in sustainable kraft paper and burlap, bound by rubber bands in a water bag to keep your stems hydrated on their way to you. Unwrap the bouquet and place the flowers in a vase with cool filtered water, adding the flower food packet sent with the bouquet. Place the flowers in the water, taking care to keep loose leaves from falling into the water and making sure the end of every stem reaches the water.
Vase arrangements such as our best-selling daily artisanal vase arrive with flower food already in the water. Add the additional flower food packet the next time you change the vase water.
Trimming the Stems for Optimal Freshness

Stems are how the flowers get water to stay hydrated and fresh. Trim flowers using floral shears or a sharp knife on a cutting board, cutting the stems diagonally. A sharp blade will compress the stems less than paper or kitchen scissors, allowing your blooms to drink water more easily. Trim every day or to ensure the best results (or every other day, we know you're busy!).
Keeping the Water Fresh and Clean
As your flowers drink the water in your vase, replenish it with cool, fresh water. Filtered water works better than tap. If the water gets cloudy, empty the vase and completely replace the old water with fresh water. If a few blooms wilt over time, remove them and rearrange the remaining flowers to keep the bouquet looking fresh and the water and vase clean.
Staying Away from Direct Sunlight and Heat

Display flowers in a cool area out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources such as vents, ovens or fireplaces.
